here is a confession for you:
one of my favorite times of the year is trash pickup. i am so not joking. people carry all of their crap treasures to the side of the road for the city to take to the dump. now don't get me wrong they aren't all treasures... but sometimes you find some gold. today was one of those days. i dropped hayden off at school and on the way back home i passed by some awesome lockers. i knew i had to have them. so i rushed home and got rylan & sarah (BFF) and told them that we had to go to luke's work to get his truck because i just HAD to have these lockers!! rylan & sarah were both still in their pj's but i didn't care. i needed to hurry because i knew someone else would pick them up!
like such a good mother i didn't even let him put shoes on... we were in such a hurry
we prevailed. the lockers were still there. so we quickly loaded them into the truck. i am so excited. they need a DEEP DEEP cleaning. they are super dirty and they smell like cheese. gross i know but they are going to be so good when they are fixed up and they were FREE!!!
i needed pictures with my find but i didn't have a cute outfit on so i had to change into what i was wearing yesterday because when you are on the blog you gotta look cute. right?!
sitting on the locker was a bad choice because now my pants smell like cheese too. don't worry they are already in the washing machine.
how is that for confessions?

such a perfect find!! I have found the best stuff on the side of the road!! I am jealous because we don't get good stuff like that. Can't wait to see the finished project, and of course in blog land you can't keep us waiting forever.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE them! Awesome find! My sister got some for like $1 at a garage sale and did an awesome job cleaning them up and repainting them and they are SUPER cute! I am sure you'll do the same and I can't wait to see them when you are done! I love your blog! I am rarely lucky enough to find things that cool on the curbside, but I am totally one to pick it up if I do. I have a cool black solid wood door that I grabbed that I am planning to turn into a head board (currently still sitting in my garage though) and I found a bike strailer (stroller+trailer) for a friend that turned out to be awesome after the cobwebs were cleaned off. :o)

Except when it's your curb side pick up day and someone steals your fire pit from the side of your house that wasn't even close to the curb. Yes. Bummer of a true story.
